Proof of concept: reliability results for the Nissan Versa and Saturn Aura

With frequent surveys and fast analysis, TrueDelta’s research process has been designed to provide reliability information soon after a new model launches. And so the May results include the first reliability statistics you’ll find anywhere on the Nissan Versa and Saturn Aura.

2007 Nissan VersaThe Nissan Versa, with 105 successful repair trips per 100 cars (1.1 per car), scored quite a bit worse than the average. A number of mostly minor problems were responsible, including a flaky tire pressure monitoring system and poorly designed remote fuel door release.

The Saturn Aura fared better, with 64 repair trips per 100 cars (0.6 per car), which is about average for a nearly new car. Even more than with the Nissan, scattered minor problems were responsible.

2007 Saturn AuraThough I haven’t been doing this long, I’ve already seen repair rates fall steadily after launch for a few new models as the manufacturer worked the kinks out. Time will tell if this happens with the Versa or Aura. Stay tuned: with TrueDelta the next update is right around the corner. I’ll personally have a good feel for the August results a bit over a month from now, and look forward to reporting the official results a month after that.

The August results will include official stats for additional new-for-2007 models, including a few that were asterisked due to insufficient data this time around.
