The upcoming August Vehicle Reliability Survey results

The first follow-up email went out yesterday, and the total number of responses now stands at 2,170. This translates to a response rate of 31.3 percent. The goal for the month remains 3,000 responses.

If not a single other response came in, next month’s official results would cover 44 models, and the asterisked results would cover another 37. But many models are just a response or two away from the minimums. Just two more responses per model would boost coverage to 52 and 45, respectively. This compares to 33 and 32 in the May results.

So, if you’ve received a request to fill out a survey, but haven’t done so, please do. This research is for you. The only way TrueDelta can provide reliability information to its members is if its members first provide the data.

In general, the results will remain much the same as before. That said, as I predicted in May the repair rate for the Nissan Versa will be much lower. It appears that initial cars were a bit buggy, but now that these early problems have been taken care of there haven’t been many others.
